SA’s big-fly line is now on a tropical core so that you can throw the largest flies in the hottest places on earth. This is a line built for windy conditions and big flies and features a ‘shooting-style’ head that’s perfect for Tarpon, Permit, Snook, Redfish, GTs, Bonefish etc. Whenever you find yourself in windy tropical conditions targeting fish that eat the largest flies in fly fishing, this line is going to be an awesome option. Plus, the line pairs well with fast action, high-performance rods. Add a camo tip for stealth and an ultra-durable build, and it’s easy to see why this is one of the most popular fly lines on the market.

Features

AST Plus Slickness - SA has built a number of important features into this line. AST Plus Slickness allows anglers to quickly shoot line with friction-minimizing performance. Welded loops on both ends allow easy leader/backing attachment. A braided multifilament core is strong and supple for versatility and durability. Amplitude Titan Long also features a floating texture on the tip section and a shooting texture on the running line for floatation in the front half of the line and castability in the back half.

Uses

Big Flies in Hot, Windy Places - Amplitude Titan Tropical Long is designed to turn over large flies efficiently. This isn’t a line that should be used in every condition, but the design allows anglers to push flies through the wind or throw really large patterns efficiently. This isn’t a species-specific line but would work well for Redfish in Louisiana and a variety of other species that eat big flies in tropical climates. When the wind picks up, this is a fly line you’ll appreciate having on your team.

Temp

Tropical/Warm - SA’s Tropi-Core Technology means that this line is built for tropical climates. Amplitude Titan Long works best in water temps and air temps that are warm or tropical and the fly line is designed for maximum performance in a variety of tropical scenarios. Due to its warm water design, this line will shrivel in cold weather or cold water.

Taper/Weight

Short, Heavy Head for Quick Rod Loading and Increased Shooting Capabilities - The WF8F version of this line has a 43’ head that weighs 380gr, 24.6g. That’s heavy. The first 30-feet of the line is significantly heavier than the AAFTA standard. That means that this line loads fast action rods at short distances and shoots big flies really well. While it’s a heavy line, SA designed that way - it’s a technical line for specific angling scenarios and not meant to be used as an all-around, versatile fly line.
