Fishing for Tarpon is often about speed. How quickly can you get a cast in the right spot and how quickly can you deliver a fly to a moving Tarpon? SA designed the Amplitude Tarpon Fly Line to cater to anglers who need to deliver flies quickly to moving or laid-up fish. As such, the Amplitude Tarpon has a short head for quick rod loading, improved shooting capabilities, and accuracy when it matters. This line will also help you throw a variety of flies in a multitude of scenarios so that you won’t ever miss that shot of a lifetime at the Silver King. It’ll also stand up to the elements (and to really large fish) for years of angling on the water. If you’re a Tarpon fanatic, this fly line is for you.

Features

AST Plus Slickness - SA has built a number of important features into this line. AST Plus Slickness allows anglers to quickly shoot line with friction-minimizing performance. Welded loops on both ends allow easy leader/backing attachment. A braided multifilament core is strong and supple for versatility and durability. Amplitude Tarpon also features a floating texture on the tip section and a shooting texture on the running line for floatation in the front half of the line and castability in the back half.

Uses

Laid-Up or Moving Tarpon - SA markets this line as a line that’s built for any Tarpon scenario. Whether you’re targeting skittish fish that are laid-up or casting to cruising Tarpon, the versatility of this taper will allow you to present a variety of flies to Tarpon in any scenario. The line’s short head loads rods beautifully so that you can do things quickly in the boat. The durability of this line also helps anglers pull on some of the largest fish in the ocean. Whether you’re targeting trophies or just playing around with smaller fish, this is truly a line built specifically for the avid Tarpon angler.

Temp

Tropical/Warm - SA’s Tropi-Core Technology means that this line is built for tropical climates. Amplitude Tarpon works best in water temps and air temps that are warm or tropical and the fly line is designed for maximum performance in a flats/skiff scenario. Due to its warm water design, this line will shrivel in cold weather or cold water.

Taper/Weight

Short Head for Quick Rod Loading - The short head of this line allows anglers to quickly target cruising fish. The WF11F version of the line has a head length of 36’ and a head weight of 340gr, 22 g. This means that the line is in the approved AAFTA range for 11wt fly lines. While it’s true to lineweight, the short head allows an angler to shoot line with ease. If you prefer to carry line in the air, this line can do that too.
