Features

SlickCast, MaxFloat - SlickCast is RIO’s hydrophobic fly line coating that helps this line repel water, shoot farther, and float higher. RIO has also added a special coating to the tip of the line that helps RIO Gold Premier sit high in the water column for improved performance. This line comes in four different color schemes including Lumalux, Melon/Gray Dun, Moss/Gold, and Orange (in select sizes).

 

Uses

All-Round Floating Line for Trout - RIO Gold Premier is a versatile line that is built to be used in a variety of freshwater trout angling scenarios. Whether you’re throwing small dry flies at longer distances or casting a small streamer on a spring creek, RIO Gold Premier gets the job done. It’s not a highly technical line but works well for anglers who target trout using a variety of techniques on a variety of different rivers/streams/lakes. This line is very caster-friendly and encourages solid loop stability and finesse when you need it.

 

Temp

Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climates including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes, and almost any climate. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn’t meant to be used in high heat.

 

Taper/Weight

Versatile Taper, True-to-Line - The WF5F version of the RIO Gold line has a 47’ head with a versatile line taper that’s ideal for dry flies, nymphs, and small streamers. The taper encourages the loading of high-performance trout rods at short distances and the extended rear taper encourages accuracy and delicacy at longer distances with dry flies. RIO built this line for versatility and the taper and head length reflect that.
