Wading for Bonefish can be tricky, especially when you need to put a fly on target at close range. Luckily, RIO’s Bonefish Quickshooter is designed to load high-performance rods at short distances so that you’ll never miss a shot on the flats. The line’s hard tropical coating keeps the line durable over time and a short, quick-loading head turns over flies easily and efficiently. If you’re a novice Bonefish angler or an experienced one, this line is a great option for presenting flies at short distances to picky fish.
AgentX, Extreme Slickness - AgentX is a dual-layered fly line tech that basically means you’re getting a high-floating inner line layer and a durable, tough outer line layer. Extreme Slickness technology is a chemistry formulation that contributes to a really slick line (improved shooting capabilities) and a line that repels dirt for increased durability. Bonefish Quickshooter also has a dual-tone color scheme that marks the sweet spot of the line by providing an obvious color change so you’re never guessing at distances.
Wading, Quick Shots at Fish on the Flats - This is a line built for close shots at Bonefish and other fish on the flats. Primarily a wading line, the short, heavy head loads fast action rods quickly so you can get the fly in front of any fish. This line also has great shooting capabilities so if you see the occasional fish at long-range you can get a fly to it, too. Because of the taper of this line, it’s also a great choice for novice flats anglers because of its easy-loading capabilities and dual-tone color scheme.
Warm/Tropical - Bonefish Quickshooter is designed to be fished in hot climates. According to RIO, this line works best in temperatures that are between 75 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. This means the line won’t get sticky when coiled on a boat deck in hot weather or during long days in tropical climates. That being said, it’ll shrivel in colder weather and won’t cast/shoot as well.
Short, Quick-Loading Head - The head length on the WF8F version of this line is 36’, short for a saltwater Bonefish line. The shorter, heavier head allows anglers to quickly load a fast action rod and encourages accuracy at short-range. The line’s dual-tone color scheme marks the sweet spot of the fly line by providing an obvious color change so you never have to guess at how much line you have out. The overall length of this line is 100’.
