Whether you’re planning a fishing trip around a backpacking trip, need a rod that lives in your car for those impromptu missions, or want something out of the way for a long float in a canoe, Redington has you covered with their Trailblazer Fly Rod. Designed for the angler that’s on the go and enjoys adventure, the Trailblazer series is made up of six-piece rods, which makes them perfect for strapping onto a backpack or nestling into a small vessel like a canoe or even a kayak. Redington makes their Trailblazer in a 9’ 5-weight as well as a 7’6” 3-weight, which gives the perfect pair of options for things like high alpine lakes that require a little more rod to deliver a chunky streamer or those tiny blue lines where a shorter and lighter rod is key. Despite being a travel-friendly rod, the Trailblazer is also an excellent tool for fishing; with a medium-fast action and solid componentry for the price point, this is a versatile rod that’s able to delicately present a dry fly just as well as it casts a heavy indicator rig into a pocket. Made for adventure, the Trailblazer has you covered whether you’re going deep into the Rangeley Lake area of Maine or backpacking into the Uinta Mountains.
Blank
Graphite - Redington makes their Trailblazer Rods out of graphite and gives it a medium-fast action. This graphite is durable, and although it comes in a 6-piece package, it still remains pretty light in hand. The Trailblazer also comes in a red color with yellow accenting, and although this might be an unconventional color, it looks solid in your hand while remaining highly visible in those dense forests.
Guides
Hard Chrome Stripping Guides - Durable enough to stand up to those rough trails and canopied streams and slick enough to hit those far targets on an alpine lake, the Hard Chrome Stripping Guides are a solid choice for the Trailblazer.
Single-Foot Snake Guides - Redington adds Single-Foot Snake Guides to the Trailblazer, which are designed to be durable enough for hike-in fishing, yet lightweight so as to counter the weight of a 6-piece build.
Reel Seat
Anodized Aluminum Reel Seat - Built with durability and mind, Redington’s Trailblazer features an Anodized Aluminum Reel Seat. This is a lightweight option that can take tough days on the water, and its single uplocking design shaves down some weight while keeping your reel snugly seated all day long.
Rod Tube
The Trailblazer Rods are equipped with a hard tube. This is the perfect storage system for strapping it onto your backpack and hitting the trail. However, it’s an equally safe bet for airport terminals and crowded backseats.
Warranty
As of September 2022, Redington’s Trailblazer Rods are covered by their original owner warranty. Redington’s original owner warranty is limited to the replacement of the rod only and it does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, or any additional type of damage caused by using the rod. This warranty also does not cover neglect, misuse, theft, fire, loss, normal wear and tear, or loss. Redington also reserves the right to replace discontinued models with newer models if necessary.
