The Predator is Redington’s big fish/big fly rod that has loads of power and plenty of fish-fighting strength. Despite the rod’s strength and power, however, Redington has found a way to make the Predator caster-friendly and relatively lightweight. The componentry on these rods is durable and saltwater-safe to provide the angler ultimate versatility from the flats to the lake. Redington has also made multiple specialized versions of the Predator including a 7’ 10” 8wt, a rod for Pike and Musky, and two Bluewater rods. If you’re looking for a workhorse of a rod to cast the biggest flies in the nastiest conditions, look no further.
Fast Action Rod Blank - The blank of the Predator combines a fast-action profile and a powerful butt section to create a rod that’s capable of throwing large flies and heavy lines. The blank is well balanced for easy, effortless casting and Redington built a reinforced butt section into the Predator to lift heavy fish. These rods are lightweight and durable for a perfect balance between strength and performance.
Aluminum Oxide Stripping Guides w/Ceramic Inserts - These stripping guides are made to withstand weather and wear. The ceramic inserts reinforce the stripping guides for increased strength and decreased line friction. These guides accommodate the heaviest fly lines.
Hard Wire Anodized Snake Guides - Anodized snake guides are also designed to be corrosion-resistant. These guides are some of the most durable snake guides on the market.
Uplocking w/Black Anodized Aluminum - The reel seat on the Predator is fully anodized with a laser engraved label for easy rod identification. All rod models come with a double uplocking component to anchor larger freshwater and saltwater reels. This reel seat is weather-resistant and corrosion safe.
Cordura Rod Tube - The Predator comes in a fully protected Cordura rod tube with dividers for easy storage. Cordura is a phenomenal mid-priced alternative to aluminum and keeps the Predator safe during transportation and travel.
The Redington Lifetime Warranty - As of July 2019, every new Redington rod purchased through an authorized dealer, excluding the Crosswater Series and Minnow and Topo Combos, is covered by a lifetime original owner warranty. The warranty is limited to replacement of the rod only and does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or any other type of damage resulting from the use of the product.
