The rod is a standard Battenkill build with a dark impregnated cane and dark burgundy wraps throughout. The reel seat is an up locking with a wood spacer. Additionally, there is a bottom handle that fits into the butt section to allow for two-handed use. The cork on both handles is very nice with minimal signs of use. The varnish is nearly perfect as well. There are stress cracks at each ferrule wrap, indicating some light use, but overall, the rod shows little wear. Each section is full-length and straight.
