These patterns taught me a lot about fly design, but the use of Material Dams (usually Bucktail Hollow Ties), Flashabou Blends, and Head Shape (Jerk Flies) is still a regular part of my tying. The Impostor is the culmination of all these ideas into one, with the use of material Dams and Flash blends for a tail, combined with an ultra-realistic silhouette\/Color Combos generated by a stacked Synthetic Baitfish front half. This combination wrestles between reactionary and realistic, flashy yet natural, and lends itself to a fully synthetic fly that casts, swims, and most importantly fishes Great!
