A solid spin on an old time favorite, the Pheasant Tail CDC Bead Fly is a great choice when you are looking for a confidence fly or whenever you need an emerger pattern to catch those fish slashing just under the surface. Taking inspiration from the classic Pheasant Tail Nymph, the Pheasant Tail CDC Bead Fly is tied with a pheasant tail fiber tail, wound pheasant tail body thats ribbed with copper wire, a peacock herl thorax, a soft hackle CDC collar that breathes and traps oxygen bubbles, and it is finished off with a bead. This construction allows this fly to quickly penetrate the waters surface while doing an excellent job at matching emerging mayflies, especially BWOs, sulfurs, and PMDs.

The Pheasant Tail CDC Bead Fly can be fished as a general searching pattern or whenever you see fish eating emergers. Best fished from early spring through the end of fall, this is a fly that should be carried in a wide variety of sizes like 12-18 so that you can match any emerging mayfly species. A pattern thats about as reliable as the famous fly that inspired it, the Pheasant Tail CDC Bead Fly is one should have some dedicated real estate in all of our trout boxes.
