Similar to the Missing Link Dry Fly, the Missing Link Caddis features a small Elk Hair wing and an elongated body. This helps the fly remain visible to the fish while the head of the fly remains on the surface and the body sinks slightly below the surface. This is a great dry fly or emerger-like pattern for trout when Caddis are hatching. The smaller wing creates a different profile on the water than a traditional Elk Hair Caddis. The slimmer profile often succeeds in fooling finicky fish on spring creeks or tailwaters. This is also a great small stream fly because of its easy-to-see design and lifelike profile. This fly, like the Missing Link Dry Fly, is tied by Umpqua Signature Tyer Mike Mercer, an Alaska and Chile travel expert and a worldwide angler.
