A great searching pattern anywhere the water’s flowing, the Mini Mopsicle Jig Fly is a simple fly that you can rely on to get into trout, panfish, and the occasional bass. Taking its design inspiration from Jim Estes’ classic Mop Fly, the Mini Mopsicle Jig Fly has a synthetic “mop'' fiber body but differs from the original in its Ice Dub thorax and jig hook design. A buggy appearance that’s filled with movement, this fly has a fluttering motion while in the water and its jig design prevents you from hanging up on the bottom of the stream making it a good choice for those fast-flowing waters.

While the Mini Mopsicle Jig Fly doesn’t imitate any specific aquatic insect, it does a fine job as a caddis or cranefly larva and is also a searching pattern that’s hard to beat. Fishing the Mini Mopsicle Jig Fly is pretty simple as it can be fished like most other nymphs, either on a tight line, under an indicator, or as a point fly in a multi-nymph setup. The Mini Mopsicle Jig Fly can be fished all year long and is a good choice whether you’re on a tiny wild trout stream or a large tailwater.
