Taking inspiration from Joe Brook’s Blondes, Bob found that he could take the epoxy (now it’s UV resin) all the way beyond the hook’s bend and create a fly that’s durable enough for bluefish, barracuda, albies, and so many more toothy species, and not only was this fly durable, but it also provided the translucent qualities often found in juvenile baitfish. 

Bay anchovies are common baitfish that are usually found from Cape Cod south. A schooling fish, bay anchovies, often referred to as “rain bait,” feed everything from striped bass and bluefish to bonito and albacore--a very popular food source for little tunnies and even larger tuna-like skipjacks and small bluefin. Popovics Pop Fleye Bay Anchovy Fly provides an exact match to these baitfish through a UV resin body, accents of flash, and Bob’s Fleye Foils that closely imitate the belly sac and body of these minnows.
