Smallmouth bass in deep riffles, stillwater trout looking for a heavy meal, or riverborn browns with a jaw that makes a ninety degree angle look dull, the LiL Kim Fly is a streamer that will have you catching almost any predatory fish. Created with movement as a primary focus, the LiL Kim Fly is tied with a body of marabou, accented with various flashes, has a soft hackle collar, and is finished off with a conehead. All of these materials come together to give a streamer that flows naturally in the water, is packed with movement, gets deep, and has that nice jigging action that almost all fish love. The LiL Kim Fly also does a good job at imitating generic baitfish like chubs and shiners, so it’s particularly effective anywhere you find these bait species.
The LiL Kim Fly is a multi-species streamer and one that you can get away with fishing almost any day of the year, although, you’ll find early spring and early fall is when this fly is especially productive for pursuing trout.
