Lamson Litespeed Fly Reel - DISCONTINUED

This season Litespeed reels will adopt the ergonomic and structural improvements introduced on the 2011 Anniversary Series Litespeed. The spool profile has been flattened slightly and the handle moved outboard to keep knuckles away from moving parts; the drag knob has been redesigned for better grip. As with our other premium reels, pocket milling the spool face and integrating the counterbalance increases strength and stiffness without adding weight. Litespeed reels come in a close second to a corresponding Force reel in terms of retrieve rate and weight, and share our patented maintenance-free super smooth conical drag.

Please note: backing can add 3-5 days to the shipping estimate.

Lamson Litespeed Fly Reel - DISCONTINUED Reviews

Not A Finer Reel on the Market for the Price Review by Dougie

My 1st choice & go to reels fishing on fresh water rivers. I use these reels almost exclusively and have never had an issue with them, ever. The drag is truly silky smooth, and tested over at least 4 or 5 years of continuous fishing. I'm using them on 3 to 4 weight rods. The finish is super and show no signs of wear after years of use. It is a carefree joy to use. The only thing that I have broken on it, and not the fault of the reel - I did it. . . was when changing the spoon & cleaning it, I accidently broke the "clicking mechanism" - delicately made. But, I like it even better in a silent stealthy mode. So, I don't miss it at all. I absolutely love these reels!
Lamson always a good choice. Review by Brent

Lamson makes great reels. This is my first of their reels and it'll be hard to change to a different maker. They're solidly built and look fantastic. The alox finish is a great touch. I've gone fishing through all types of rivers in Idaho and have abused this reel and it' still looks brand new. Super light so minimizes fatigue after a full day of fishing. Drag is so smooth and you feel confident using it just in case you land that big one. Consider this reel and you won't regret it.
My Go-To Reel Review by adam

Where to even start with this reel…It has to be one of my all-time favorites. I’m just not sure how you make a better reel. It is very well made, light for the size, durable, dependable and has one of the best drag systems. The large arbor makes it easy to retrieve line without adding having to add extra bulk (backing) to the reel. The drag system is also sealed so you can use it in saltwater without any problems. Makes it much easier to clean as well. I have two of these reels; one for a 5 wt and a 7 wt. I use the 5 wt for trout and the 7 wt when I fish for salmon. Have never had any issue with being “under-gunned”. Just a great all around reel that is worth the money. You will end up buying multiple less-expensive reels before this one ever falls apart.
