An excellent choice when tying the famous Klinkhammer, Kona’s BC4 Barbless Curved Nymph Stonefly Klink Hooks are tough to beat when it comes to tying this classic. Although this is the perfect hook for the Klinkhammer, the BC4 Curved Hooks are also a great choice for large stoneflies and other nymphs that require a curved shank. Made from forged high-carbon steel, these hooks are nice and sharp, while their 2x gap and straight eye give solid holding power. Use it to tie dry flies that ride in the surface film or nymphs that roll on the bottom, no matter what you’re choice, you can always rely on the Kona BC4 Barbless Curved Nymph Stonefly Klink Hooks.

Uses

Built with a unique bend, these hooks are an ideal choice for tying Klinkhammers and other parachutes that ride in the surface film. However, due to their aggressively curved shank, you can also use this hook when tying nymphs, emergers, and larvae, especially stoneflies and large larva like craneflies.

Comparisons

Kona built their BC4 Barbless Curved Nymph Stonefly Klink Hooks with a pretty unique bend, and while others have done the same, this hook has a nice wide gap that others don’t. Daiichi’s 1167 Klinkhammer Hook is a suitable comparison, but it does have a smaller gap, which makes the body ride a little higher in the surface film. Both of these hooks can be used interchangeably, but if you want one with a wide gap and a bit more holding power, the BC4 Barbless Curved Nymph Stonefly Klink Hook is the better choice.

Example Flies

Kona’s BC4 Barbless Curved Nymph Stonefly Klink Hooks is a versatile platform with a ton of uses, but the Klinkhammer is by far the most popular pattern to use this hook for.
