Based on a fly that has an origin well over a century, the Gold Ribbed Tungsten Bead Hares Ear Fly is a favorite whenever it comes to effective nymphing. A spin on the famous Gold Ribbed Hares Ear, this nymph has the classic buggy body of hare dubbing ribbed with gold tinsel, a bold turkey wingcase, and a tungsten bead that sinks deep quickly. The Gold Ribbed Tungsten Bead Hares Ear can be effectively fished as a general searching pattern when you’re not sure what nymph the fish are tuned into, but it also works wonders as a mayfly or small stonefly nymph as well as some caddis larvae. 

With the addition of a tungsten bead, this fly is one that you can count on to reach those deep holes, swift riffles, and even work the middle of those ponds packed with brookies. Most effective in sizes 12-16, the Tungsten Bead Head Hares Ear is one that every box should have an assortment of all year long.
