A variation of one of Kelly’s most famous streamers, Galloups Barely Legal Fly (Fish Skull Head) maintains a focus on movement and has a construction similar to the original Barely Legal, but it adds a splash of realism that the original doesn’t have. Designed by Kelly Galloup, the Barely Legal is a series of flies that are packed with motion, feature an articulated design, have more marabou than most fly shops stock on their walls, and just seem to catch large fish almost anywhere they go. The Galloups Barely Legal Fly (Fish Skull Head) has a design that’s almost identical to the original, but it has the added benefit of a Fish Skull Head. With this head, the streamer dips and dives while also giving a realistic look to this baitfish fly. Not only does its construction mimic the life of a baitfish, but this fly comes in a range of colors so you can really dial in “matching the hatch” of your local waters. 

Galloups Barely Legal Fly (Fish Skull Head) is a fly that you can fish anytime of the year, but it certainly seems to excel at the start of fall whenever large fish are putting on the feedbag. Being that this fly has so much movement, you can dead drift it, swing it, or just strip it back to your feet, no matter what you choose, hold on because this fly just might land you the fish of the season.
