The IMX Pro Short Spey from G. Loomis is keeping up with contemporary trends in the fly fishing industry. Modern Short Spey rods are an efficient option for presentation and castability challenges in the two-handed rod market. Tom Larimer and Steve Rajeff designed this rod to be progressive, high-performing, and trendy. Don’t let the modern design of this rod fool you, however. Research, time, and two legendary rod designers make the IMX Pro Short Spey one of the best on the market and more than just a trend.
Conduit Core Technology - The IMX Pro Short Spey series utilizes Loomis’ recent innovation in fly rod design. Conduit Core Technology allows Loomis to improve rod efficiency and decrease rod weight by replacing graphite wraps with proprietary material in the bottom half of the rod. The result: strength and durability in the butt section as well as increased energy throughout the rod blank. Conduit Core Technology increases rod balance, reduces angler fatigue, and allows anglers to maximize time and opportunity on the river. Conduit Core Technology partners with multi-taper design to increase sensitivity and ensure rod balance.
Ceramic Stripping Guides - The IMX Pro features a durable and classic ceramic stripping guide. The stripping guide is quiet yet functional - elements we’ve come to expect and appreciate on mid-priced two-handed rods.
Chrome Single-Foot Snake Guides - Similarly, the rod has single-foot chrome snake guides to help line shoot farther with ease. Again, you’re not going to see the very best componentry on the IMX Pro Short Spey. However, as a mid-priced series, the IMX Pro Short Spey is designed for purpose, not art.
Double Downlocking w/ Anodized Aluminum - The IMX Pro Short Spey rods feature a classic Spey grip made with excellent quality cork and an anodized aluminum reel seat. The reel seat on all rod models is practical and efficient and includes a double downlocking component.
Cordura Rod Tube - The IMX Pro Short Spey comes with a durable Cordura rod tube that will protect your investment and keep the rod safe when it’s not being used. Cordura is a great mid-priced alternative to an aluminum rod tube.
Loomis Limited Lifetime Warranty - The G. Loomis IMX Pro Short Spey, like all Loomis fly rods, is covered by a Lifetime Limited Warranty, which covers the rod for the life of the original owner. For breakage determined to have occurred due to non-conformance, G. Loomis will at the companies’ discretion, either repair or replace the product at no charge.
Xpeditor Service - G. Loomis offers an additional option for repair that we think is the industry’s finest. It’s a no-fault, no-questions-asked, service program that gets you fishing in as little as a few days!! As of April 2018, the fee for the IMX Pro Short Spey is $100 for ground shipping.
