Every trout angler loves throwing large dry flies. Foam, hoppers, beetles, ants… you name it, we love to see trout eat big foamy flies. If you’ve ever fished in the western US, chances are you’ve thrown some of the patterns listed here. These fly patterns imitate stoneflies, Caddis, Moths, and more and can be quite productive during the late summer/early fall months in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and beyond. General attractor patterns can also be thrown throughout the season to trigger reactionary strikes from fish feeding on other bugs. If you’re fishing technical water like some rivers in New Zealand or spring creeks in the western US, we have technical terrestrials, too. Regardless of your strategy and approach, you can find a vast selection of terrestrial dry flies right here.

One of the most popular patterns in this collection is the Chubby Chernobyl. The Chubby can be a great pattern for hopper season, large stonefly imitations, general dry-dropper fishing, and more. We have a multitude of colors, sizes, and styles for all of your foamy fishing needs. Similarly, if you’re looking for foam beetles or ants, we’ve got a large selection of those, too. Ants and beetles are great patterns to throw when fish get picky and aren’t willing to eat small, technical flies. They’re also great flies to use as a dry fly-dropper setup.

If you’re looking for more buggy terrestrial patterns, a Stimulator Dry Fly is probably the most widely used. These flies are great when there are stoneflies on the water or when you’re fishing backcountry streams for eager cutthroat trout. The Stimulator is available in 6 different sizes and 6 different colors including olive, orange, purple, royal, tan and yellow. The Royal Wulff is another pattern that has been around for a long time, and for good reason. The Royal Wulff is a great attractor pattern for large and small fish alike and can be eaten as a Caddis, Mayfly, or hopper. We also carry different varieties of the Royal Wulff including the White Wulff, Royal Coachman Trude, and more. If you’re looking for another popular buggy terrestrial, check out the PMX Dry Fly.

If you’re here looking for ant flies, you’ve also come to the right place. We have a few different ant fly varieties including a foam ant called the Bionic Ant, a smaller more technical ant called the Flying Ant, and even a parachute ant for low light conditions when visibility is important. These are great flies for small streams and spring creeks when ants are likely to fall into the water from the bank or overhanging grass. Ants are also a productive pattern in New Zealand when large trout are holding underneath undercut banks.

Finally, if you’re looking for larger patterns or unconventional flies, we’ve got a few of those, too. The Fat Head Moth Fly is a great deer hair moth imitation that fools fish feeding on large moths at night. Another fly with a buoyant deer hair head is Dave’s Hopper. This is one of the largest hopper patterns we carry and is great when fish are looking up for big bugs that land on the water with a splash.

Regardless of what you’re looking for, we’ve got terrestrials galore to fill your foam box to the brim. Plus everything SHIPS FOR FREE with a price match guarantee.
