If you’re an angler who enjoys fishing fast action rods and catching big fish, chances are you’ve subscribed to the recent big bug movement. And to fish streamers effectively, you usually need a sinking or sink tip fly line. Cortland’s Sink Tip 10 line is built for scenarios where you need to get your flies down quickly but you don’t want the burden of a full sinking line. This is a great line for a variety of freshwater species and caters to the angler who swings streamers, strips streamers, and targets larger freshwater fish.

Welded Loops, Tungsten Tip Technology - Cortland has built a few different features into this line to keep it simple and functional on the water. The line is designed to remain durable during days on the water with a coating that also improves casting capabilities. Featuring Cortland’s Tungsten Tip Tech, this line will get your flies down quickly for maximum efficiency. Loops at both ends allow anglers to easily attach leaders and backing so you can focus on the fishing instead of the rigging. This line comes in a black/olive color scheme so you always know when your sinking tip is in the water.

Streamers, Freshwater - Like any sink tip line, this is a line designed for streamer fishing. Whether you’re swinging flies for Steelhead or chucking baitfish patterns for Bass, this is a line that will load up quickly and help you propel large flies in windy conditions. The tip sinks at 6-inches per second so this is a great line to use in deep rivers for Trout, too.

Cold/Moderate - This line features a braided nylon multifilament core which means it’s made to be used in cold and moderate climates including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes, and almost any climate. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn’t meant to be used in high heat.

Short Aggressive Taper - The Cortland Streamer Sink 10 has a short aggressive front taper for casting large streamers and turning over heavy flies. The 26’ front taper with a 10’ step makes this a great streamer line. The WF5F version has a 30’ head weight of 160 grains which also means it’s a full line size heavy to load fast-action streamer rods at short distances.
