As its name implies, this is a Euro Nymphing line that’s designed with a monofilament core, which is a little stiffer than the braided version so it better reduces sag from your rod tip while increasing connection with your fly--a real win for the Euro Nymphers. However, its mono core will hold a little memory, so you may find it needs occasional stretching, especially in the winter. Shooting Technology (ST) - ST is Cortland’s own technology for increasing distance while reducing friction of your fly line. The Euro Nymph Mono Core Fly Line is also made in a subtle gecko green color to allow it to blend in and ensure stealth.

Uses

Euro Nymphing - Cortland’s Euro Nymph Mono Core Line is developed exclusively for Euro Nymphing. This is a line you choose whenever you’re fishing heavily-weighted flies and looking to tick the bottom all day long and do nothing else. A master of its craft, the Euro Nymph Mono Core Fly Line has a thin diameter so that you can feel everything your fly is doing whether you’re casting a Prince Nymph a foot in front of you or fishing a Frenchie on a longer line.

Cold/Moderate - Cortland made their Euro Nymph Mono Core Line as a cold to moderate freshwater line for Euro Nymphing tactics. This means that this line has an upper limit around 70 degrees and won’t really function above that limit as it will get soft.

Taper/Weight

Level Line Option: The level line option of Cortland’s Euro Nymph Mono Core Fly Line has a completely level construction and comes in two diameters: .017” and .022” (this is the thinnest diameter allowed by FIPS-Mouche ruling). This is ideal for reducing sag and picking up even the most subtle strikes. The more popular of the two options, the level line will really help whenever you’re looking to maintain constant contact with your flies. 

Double Taper Option: With their double taper construction, Cortland gives this version of their Euro Nymph Mono Core Line a feel that’s more recognizable to those who are new to Euro Nymphing or those who just love fishing a double taper. While this option doesn’t have the dedicated Euro Nymphing specs of the level line, it still works to increase sensitivity, mend easily, and allow you to hit all of the same pockets of water.
