Cortland is perhaps most well-known for their fly lines, however, they do make a few fly rods, too. Cortland’s Competition MKII Series is made for the serious competition angler. These rods are designed with an emphasis on lake fishing but can also cast a dry fly or streamer. The MKII is lightweight, very responsive, and a rod offering that’s technical and efficient. If you’re an enthusiastic angler who's fond of fishing still water, this rod is one of the best on the market.
Tactical 10’ Blank - The blank of the MKII series is designed specifically for competition angling. With a 10-foot length and lake-specific taper, the MKII helps you catch more fish on the water. Cortland uses premium graphite and tried-and-true tapers to create a rod that is powerful and sensitive. This rod is also versatile enough to cast a dry fly or a streamer. The blank features a matte finish for stealthy angling.
Oversized Stripping Guides - Oversized guides are great for lake fishing and allow the angler to fight fish and present line accurately and efficiently. These guides stand up to weather and wear and are extremely durable.
Hard Chrome Single Foot Snake Guides - Single foot snake guides are lightweight and highly functional. Many rod manufacturers use snake guides for their low-friction design and durable build.
Carbon Fiber Insert w/Double Uplocking Component - A carbon fiber insert and double uplocking component keep the butt section of the MKII functional and durable. Anodized aluminum componentry locks down any fly reel for unparalleled design and functionality.
Cordura Rod Tube - The Competition MKII comes in a durable Cordura rod tube with a rod sock for increased protection. Cordura keeps the MKII safe during transportation, travel, and time off of the water.
Limited Lifetime Warranty - As of 8/2019, Cortland rods come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturer defects. The Cortland warranty is limited to the original owner and rods must be registered within 30 days of purchase. Cortland will also repair or replace your rod. Cortland charges a $50 fee for any damage that is not directly related to a manufacturing defect for handling and shipping.
