Whether you’re drifting caddis larvae the morning before the first hatch of the year or tight-lining small Czech patterns, Core has all of your needs covered with their C1130 Shrimp and Caddis Pupa Fine Wire Hooks. These hooks have an all-purpose curved shank that's quite versatile and great for tying nymphs, scuds, pupae, and more. Designed in sizes 8 through 18, these hooks make it easy to match whatever’s active in your local water, and a bronze finish, fine wire, and small barb ensure that you’re always getting the hooking and holding power that you need. A do-it-all platform, the C1130 Shrimp and Caddis Pupa Fine Wire Hooks are an excellent addition to your desk all year long.
Uses
Core’s C1120 Curved Nymph and Scud Hooks are pretty versatile and can be used for a variety of nymph, larva, Czech nymph, scud, and sowbug patterns. However, due to their fine wire, they’re also a good choice when tying emergers, pupae, or soft hackles that you want to ride a little higher in the water.
Comparisons
A hook with a similar construction is Ahrex’s FW540 Curved Nymph Hooks. These hooks also feature a curved shank that gives a good platform for tying nymphs, larvae, and other patterns. Two differences between these two hooks are that Ahrex’s FW540 hooks have a black nickel finish and come in sizes 6 through 16, whereas the Core C1130 Curved Nymph and Scud Hooks are finished with bronze and are available in sizes 8 through 18.
