The Caddis Poopah is a unique hybrid between a wet fly and a nymph. When Caddis hatch, they shed their nymphal shuck and dart to the surface. Trout often eat these insects when they’re swimming, which is why swinging a Caddis Pupa can be so effective. This fly works well when swung or dead-drifted. Featuring a deer hair head, synthetic body, and hackle wings, this fly produces a ton of movement in the water and is a stellar pattern for any fishery where trout feed on Caddis. Tied by Umpqua Signature Tyer Tim Fox, this is a pattern every freshwater trout angler should have in his/her box.Â
