A great choice whenever you’re looking to strip streamers either from the shore or a boat, the Baby Gonga Fly is a streamer that just might help you land the fish of a lifetime. Coming from mastermind Charlie Crave, this fly was developed as an easy way to imitate large sculpin minnows and fool big carnivorous trout (don’t worry, it’ll fool bass, pike, and other freshwater predatory species as well). The Baby Gonga Fly is an articulated streamer tied with a marabou tail, a palmered webby hackle body with dubbing underneath, rubber legs, dumbbell eyes, and finished with a Polar Fibre head. This design creates a fly that’s packed with motion, pushes water well, and looks like a variety of baitfish species, especially sculpin.

The Baby Gonga Fly is most commonly fished in sizes 6-8 with olive being a popular color. This is a fly that you can fish any time of the year in both moving and still water, and whether you like a dead drift, a swung approach, or the classic upstream strip, this fly is sure to catch fish.
