Angry gator blues that make light work of mono and fluoro or tying a triply-articulated musky streamer, no matter what toothy situation you find yourself in, Ahrex’s 7x7 Predator Wire can stand up to it all. This wire is braided from seven strands of stainless steel with a nylon coating and has 40lb and 26lb breaking strength options, making it rustproof, durable, and able to stand up to tons of different toothy species. Ahrex’s 7x7 Predator Wire is also quite supple and soft enough to allow you to tie knots with ease.

Uses

Equally valuable in your pack while on the water fishing for those species with serious chompers as it is at the tying bench, you can use Ahrex’s 7x7 Predator Wire for tying leaders when fishing or when tying articulated sections into your flies. Whether you’re affixing the rear section of a Game Changer to the hook or adding an articulated tail to a popper for pike, this wire is an excellent choice.

Comparisons

A very similar option to Ahrex’s 7x7 Predator Wire is Scientific Anglers’ Absolute Predator 7x7 Knottable Wire. Like Ahrex’s version, SA’s Absolute Predator Wire is constructed from seven strands of stainless steel with a nylon coating, and at the 40lb breaking strength, each of these options has an identical breaking strength and diameter. The main difference between these two options is that Scientific Anglers packages theirs on a spool and makes it in 25lb and 40lb strength, while Ahrex’s option is coiled and comes in a 26lb option and a 40lb option.
